Northern Pacific airways has delayed their inaugural flight from Ontario California (ONT) to Las Vegas (LAS). Originally, the inaugural flight was scheduled for June 2, 2023. In a social media post by Northern Pacific, the airline stated “See you on the 23rd of June, book now.” An article from Simple Flying was cited in the social media post detailing the delayed launch. However, no formal press statements have been released by the airline. Any passengers with booked tickets for June 2 are being contacted by Northern Pacific for alternate arrangements. In an interview with Simple Flying the Northern Pacific’s CEO attributes the delay to regulatory issues with starting the airline.
One of two new airlines starting up
Northern Pacific has been in the works for a few years now. Initially they looked to launch flights from Anchorage Alaska as connecting airport for Asia and north American destinations. Four Boeing 757 aircraft are on property coming second hand from American Airlines. It is unknown if other destinations will be added to the airlines route network. Another newcomer Red Way Airlines is also gearing up to launch their first flight out of their home airport Lincoln Nebraska on June 8, 2023.
