Red Way Airlines – A New US Startup Airline from Lincoln Nebraska

,

America will welcome a new airline to the market starting in June 2023. Red Way Airlines will commence operations from its hub in Lincoln Nebraska (LNK). The airline looks to operate nonstop flights to Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Nashville and Orlando. Red Way Airlines will operate in a unique fashion with a different approach from recent startups Breeze Airways and Avelo. Red Way Airlines will not own nor operate their aircraft. Planes will not even be branded by Red Way. Instead Red Way will act as a sales agent for GlobalX Air Tours acting as the public charter operator with Global Crossing Airlines as the air carrier.

Global Crossing Airlines also known as GlobalX Airlines operates supplemental charters as well as leasing for cargo and passenger carriers including wet lease aircraft for TUI Netherlands and Avianca Cargo. GlobalX also operates aircraft for the Department Of Defense when requested. Red Way Airlines will operate a low cost model with bundle options depending on fare type. The more basic options have addon fees for carry on items, checked bags and seat selection. The most basic fare option has limitations including restrictions on reaching the call center free of charge.

Prior to announcing Lincoln Nebraska, the sole carrier operating out of the airport is United Airlines with nonstop flights to Chicago, Houston and Denver. The inaugural flight will commence June 8th from Lincoln (LNK) to Orlando (MCO). The destinations, frequencies and launch dates from Lincoln Nebraska on Red Way Airlines will be:

Lincoln (LNK)

  • Atlanta (ATL) 2X weekly June 16.
  • Austin (AUS) 2X weekly June 28.
  • Dallas (DFW) 2X weekly June 16.
  • Las Vegas (LAS) 2X weekly June 16.
