Located on the 8th floor, the Sheraton Club at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Center offers airport and runway views, 24-hour access to snacks and beverages, an evening hors d’oeuvre reception, and a small business center.
How to get access:
Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador elite members with Marriott Bovnoy are granted club access due to their status. They are also offered access to clubs & lounges across numerous Marriott brands. If you do not have Platinum or higher, you can always request an upgrade to a Club Floor room at the time of check-in, however this is not guaranteed. You may also book Club access in your room type while booking, we generally found the access to be about $59 more than the standard rate for a traditional room.
Airport and runway views:
Capture airplanes flying right over the hotel as you get work done, this Sheraton Club offers views of the airport where you can mainly catch a glimpse of an Air Canada or Westjet flight, if youโre lucky enough you may get a rare airline or airplane if you are looking out the window at the right time.
Hours:
The Sheraton Club at Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Center operates 24 hours a day, however, it is closed on the weekends. The Sheraton Club closes at noon (12:00) on Friday, and reopens at 5:00 PM (17:00) on Sunday.
Food & Beverage:
Breakfast is not offered at this Sheraton Club lounge, however, at check-in the front desk did provide a coupon for breakfast for two in the restaurant complimentary. Like most lounges within Marriott branded hotels, the Sheraton Club at Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Center offered hors d’oeuvre from 5:30PM to 10:00PM. On the night we reviewed the lounge for hot options, they offered vegetable spring rolls and crab cakes. The Sheraton Club also offered a small nacho station consisting of tri-colored tortilla chips, cheese, salsa and guacamole. The cold options consisted of a cheese board with a variety of cheeses and crackers, tomato and mozzarella pesto skewers, potato salad and a vegetable salad. For desserts, the Sheraton Club provided bite sized cakes and a fruit tray. Alcohol was available for purchase in this lounge, unlike other lounges where it is complimentary. The alcohol was also only available during the staffed hours of 5:30PM to 10:00PM. The service attendant was great however and always provided a smile and offered assistance.
Snacks & beverages were available 24 hours, however no attendant outside of the hors d’oeuvre hours seemed to stock the lounge so at times the lounge did not offer all snack options. The snack options offered were a variety of sun-chips and munchies mix, nuts, Rice Krispies, and granola bars. The beverage selection consisted of a variety of sodas, mainly Pepsi branded, juices, spring water and San Pellegrino small glass bottles. The espresso machine was out of order while we were there so the Sheraton Club put out air pots for coffee and hot water, however, with these not being tended to, you could not really enjoy tea or coffee.
Business Center:
The business center computer took a while to start-up and the scanner did not work properly. It also seemed as though you could only print boarding passes on this computer.
Lounge Rankings:
Ambiance & Functionality: 3/5
The lounge was more than adequate, offering great views of airplanes. The lounge did not offer private sections and was just one big open space. The lounge also lost points for closing on the weekends.
Food & Beverage: 2/5
While the hot options were good, and the presentation was overall a nice presentation, the Sheraton Club lost points for the espresso machine being out of order and the lack of restocking. This lounge also lost points for not providing breakfast within the lounge and offering alcohol for sale rather than complimentary.
Seating: 3/5
There were multiple seating options within the lounge, ranging from booths and tables to long community tables and couches. However, the lounge lacked plugs at most of the lounge seating.
Business Center: 0/5
We could not achieve what we wanted to with a slow start-up and a scanner that did not work.
