Airline lounges are a commons staple in almost every major airport across the globe. There are some misconceptions about lounge access including the idea that you need a super expensive credit card to access airline lounges. While premium credit cards offer lounge access, Priority Pass offers an affordable option to access many airport lounges across the globe. We will dive into what Priority Pass is and some of the benefits of the different membership categories.
Priority Pass Membership Types
Priority Pass has three different membership types which varies with cost and benefits. The most basic membership, “Standard” costs $99 per year with a $35 lounge visit fee plus a $35 guest fee. This cheapest option may suit a traveler who does not traverse airports that often or who travels alone. Next up from Standard is Standard Plus which cost $329. Lounge access is complimentary for the first ten visits than costs $35 per lounge visit. Guests cost $35 per person. The most expensive Priority Pass Membership “Prestigue” has a $469 Annual fee with unlimited lounge visits. This membership option becomes a better value for the money if you are a seasoned traveler who travels frequently enough to take advantage of unlimited lounge access.
Where Are Priority Pass Lounges?
Priority Pass lounges vary in size and amenities. In North America there are over 150 lounges throughout the U.S and Canada. Surprisingly, many of these lounges are not Priority Pass branded. In New York JFK International Airport for example Priority Pass lounges include the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge, and the Turkish Airlines lounge. The kick is that you do not need to be on the respective airline’s ticket to access the lounge most of the time. Priority Pass website outlines in each airport where there lounges are located. A favorite Priority Pass lounge of ours is the Plaza Premium Lounge Orlando Terminal C. Each lounge has their own access policies and operating hours so it’s best to check ahead. If you travel frequently, a priority pass membership may be worth considering.
