Porter Airlines is an airline based out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Porter recently introduced their all-new Embraer E195-E2 jet to their fleet and with that came a whole new experience onboard Porter. This experience is called PorterReserve. This leads to the question, what is PorterReserve?
PorterReserve is what Porter would describe as an “all-inclusive economy experience.” To sum up what this means, here are a few perks you get when booked on a PorterReserve ticket.
- Change flights with no change fees.
- Two checked bags.
- Expedited airport experience.
- Front of cabin seating with extra legroom.
- Premium snacks, beer, wine and liquor.
PorterReserve – At the Airport
When booking a PorterReserve ticket, your PorterReserve experience begins as soon as you enter the airport. It starts with a dedicated check-in area, which often allows a separate set of agents just for PorterReserve passengers. This allows you to check in and get your bags checked quickly and easily. At select airports you also get expedited security screenings with your PorterReserve ticket. In essence this allows you to take advantage of shorter security lines. As you get ready to board, PorterReserve offers you early boarding which allows you to get settled in your seat early and hassle free.
PorterReserve – Onboard Experience
Once onboard, with your PorterReserve ticket you get the seats towards the front of the aircraft. These seats can be easily spotted by their blue color, compared to the gray economy seats. Compared to economy, Porter Reserve offers extra legroom and allows you to be the first off the aircraft. As with all Porter flights there are no middle seats, so whether you book PorterReserve or not, it bears the age old question, aisle or window?
PorterReserve Inflight Meals
If you happen to be on a flight that is longer than 2.5 hours, you can count on a meal served onboard. Where Porter differs when serving meals, the meals are cold, so this will often mean you get choices like a sandwich, or a cold noodle dish. As with all Porter flights, premium snacks are included as well as beer, cocktails and wine served in a real glass! PorterReserve passengers also have access to spirits with the price of their ticket. When flying on Porter’s new E195-E2 you get fast, free wi-fi whether you book PorterReserve or not, gate to gate with no sign-ups. All seats onboard also have power outlets.
Is Porter Reserve worth it?
Depending on what you need for your flight, PorterReserve may be the best option for you with the generous baggage allowance, front of cabin seating and meal onboard, PorterReserve is truly an all-inclusive economy experience.

Does Porter Reserve allow flyers to use the priority security lane at Pearson? It’s hard to find information about which airports are participating…
They do not, however there is a priority security lane for certain AMEX credit card holders that can be used. Otherwise, Porter Reserve passengers go through the standard security lines.
