Virgin Atlantic will begin offering nonstop routes from London to Sao Paulo beginning May 13, 2024. The nonstop route will operate daily using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This will be Virgin Atlantic’s first ever route to south America. Passengers traveling from Sao Paulo will have the ability to connect in London Heathrow to other Virgin Atlantic and partner airline destinations.
An Exciting Strategic Destination
Sao Paulo is one of the most populated city in South America. The area sees high demand for cargo shipments. Virgin Atlantic estimates that they will carry car parts, pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural shipments. The area will also serve as a major connecting point for other south American destinations. Through Virgin Atlantic’s partnership with LATAM, passengers can connect onwards to over 50 south American destinations. Further connections from Sao Paulo can also be made with Virgin Atlantic SkyTeam alliance partner Aerolíneas Argentinas. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members will be able to earn and redeem points on partner airlines out of Sao Paulo. The new route will give Virgin Atlantic customers further options to trade the cold winter weather for some warm sunny weather. Virgin Atlantic will also offer nonstop flights to sunny Dubai and Las Vegas.
