Virgin Atlantic has their eyes set on the middle east. The transatlantic airline recently resumed service do Dubai following a hiatus during the COVID pandemic. Now Virgin Atlantic passengers will be able to take advantage of nonstop service to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from London Heathrow. Flights will commence March 30 2025 aboard their flagship Airbus A330neo widebody aircraft.
Aligning With SkyTeam Alliance Member Airlines
Following Virgin Atlantic’s induction into the SkyTeam alliance, the airline has wasted no time strengthening partnerships with fellow alliance carriers such as Delta Air Lines. With the new flights to Saudia Arabia, Virgin Atlantic will operate in patronship with fellow SkyTeam member Saudia. Flying Club members will eb able to redeem Virgin Points across Saudia’s rewards program. The partnership will offer connection opportunities to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, with further destinations within Saudi Arabia and to Bangladesh and China to follow as the partnership matures.
Two Destinations Seeing Service Resumption
In addition to the new route announcement, Virgin Atlantic also announced that they will resume service to Kotoka International Airport in Accra beginning May 2025. Flights will be operated on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Virgin Atlantic will also resume service to Toronto Pearson International Airport from London Heathrow beginning March 2025. Flights to Toronto will offer connection opportunities for passengers traveling to India via London Heathrow. The flights to Canada are part of a joint venture between Air France, Delta and KLM in partnership with WestJet.
