Virgin Atlantic is growing their international presence with new nonstop flights to Bengaluru (BLR) India. Flights to Bengaluru will operate out of London Heathrow (LHR) using Boeing 787-9 long haul aircraft. Additionally Virgin Atlantic will add a second daily service to Mumbai, bringing the airline to a total of 5 daily flights to India, Virgin Atlantic’s second largest market after the United States.
Increased Connectivity In India
Virgin Atlantic looks to provide more than one million seats to India alone, an estimated 350% capacity increase compared to 2019 passenger numbers. Virgin Atlantic Cargo operations will bring approximately 42.1million kg of cargo to the region. Passengers flying from Bengaluru to London will have connection opportunities at London Heathrow to destinations such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York JFK and Seattle. Through Virgin Atlantic’s partnership with IndiGo, it possible to book flights on a single ticket to over 36 destinations including Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad via Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. โThere is a huge opportunity for us in India, it has a dynamic, fast-growing economy and weโre anticipating a huge growth in demand for international travel to and from the region.
