Virgin Atlantic is making adjustments to their United States and Caribbean route network over the coming months. The airline will be increasing frequencies on many routes while cutting service from Austin Texas (AUS). These changes will begin in January 2024. Virgin Atlantic will also add capacity to other leisure destinations such as Dubai.
Strong Leisure Demand In The United States
Virgin Atlantic is seeing strong demand across the pond to popular leisure destinations including Miami. Currently Virgin Atlantic operates 11 weekly flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Miami (MIA). Beginning Summer 2024 frequencies will be increased to 14 flights per week. In the Caribbean, Virgin Atlantic will increase capacity to Barbados offering 14 weekly flights as opposed to the current 11 weekly flights. After recently resuming nonstop service to Dubai (DXB) from London Heathrow, Virgin will increase the frequencies from four times weekly to daily beginning late 2024 / 2025. The frequency increases come at the expense of Austin which will see service ending in January 2024. Any passengers with tickets booked afterward will be contact by Virgin Atlantic team members and will receive a full refund.
