United Airlines has made some exciting updates about their upcoming Starlink Wi-Fi retrofits. With most projects these days it seems that implementation is usually behind schedule. United however is announcing an accelerated timeline to bring Starlink to their massive fleet. United Airlines will begin operating the first Starlink equipped aircraft Spring 2025. United is aiming to complete Starlink retrofits on all their duel class regional aircraft by the end of 2025. Eventually free Starlink Wi-Fi will be rolled out on the entire United Airlines fleet.

Fast Free Wi-Fi

There seems to be a trend among the major U.S airlines towards complimentary Wi-Fi (with the exception of American Airlines). Delta Air Lines set the trend by implementing complimentary Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members. Similarly United will make Wi-Fi access complimentary for all United MilagePlus members. It is defiantly worth signing up for MilagePlus as it is free and does offer the nice perk of free Wi-Fi. “We have a lot planned for our MileagePlus members this year and adding Starlink to as many planes as we can โ€“ as quickly as we can โ€“ is at the center of it all,” saidย Richard Nunn, CEO of United MileagePlus. “It’s not only going to revolutionize the experience of flying United, but it’s also going to unlock tons of new partnerships and benefits for our members that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.” As the new year progresses, more Starlink equipped aircraft will come on the line, offering the same quality (if not better) high speed internet that you would experience on the ground.
