Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Tรผrkiye will modernize their fleet with an order of 220 Airbus aircraft comprising of 50 A321neos, 50 A350-900s, 15 A350-1000s and 5 A350F freight aircraft. This order will supplement Turkish Airlines previous order for 14 A350-900s placed earlier this year bringing Turkish Airlines orderbook to 504 Airbus Aircraft.
Modernizing The Short And Long Haul Fleet
This order from Turkish Airlines will improve the current short and long haul on many fronts. “The A350-900, A350-1000, A350F and A321 will all be flagship aircraft in their respective category and efficiency drivers to shape the airlineโs future and sustainable expansion, with more range, less fuel, noise and emissions and best cabin in class,” says Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International. In particular, the Airbus A320neo family of aircraft will offer Turkish Airlines a 50% noise reduction and more than 20% fuel savings and COโ reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. The new aircraft will come just in time for new destinations across north America and the globe.
