The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has publishes the Administrators Intent 3.0, outlining actions to achieve the vision and key strategic objectives outlined by Administrator David Pekoshke. For 2023, the Administrators Intent 3.0 will focus in three key areas, people, partnerships and technology.
People Partnerships And Technology
People
In the report Administrator Pekoshke emphasizes a heavy focus on the people who work for the TSA as well as passengers. This includes promoting a good culture that promotes operational excellence. The goals heavily align with the 2021 Executive Order on Transforming Federal Customer Experience and Service Delivery to Rebuild
Trust in Government. The executives order stresses the importance of positive interactions between federal agencies and the people. TSA also implemented a new compensation plan to ensure staff are paid at the same pay scale as other federal entities.
Partnerships
TSA will overhaul the process of contracting. There will be a focus on streamlining the contracting process. TSA aliso developed the Capability Acceptance Process to accept and use industry donations of equipment and services. Private sector partnerships are outlined in the report as a priority to develop best business practices currently used in the private sector.
Technology
Airports rely heavily on the use of advanced technology. This includes the implementation of additional 3D CT and CAT scan Xray machines in airports across the country. Cybersecurity technology and resilience for pipeline, passenger rail and airports is outlined as a priority. The Administrators Intent 3.0 will ensure that the TSA keeps our transportation sector safe while improving with the evolving environment.
