Tesla And Hilton are joining forces to make electric vehicle charging more accessible for hotel guests. Through an agreement with Tesla, over 20,000 Tesla Universal Wall Connectors will be installed at over 2,000 Hilton properties in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Hilton properties with EV charging capability will have a minimum of six chargers on site. The chargers will feature Universal Wall Connectors from Tesla, meaning that any American EV model is compatible with the chargers.
Increased Demand For Charging Infrastructure
Companies in the hospitality and travel industry are taking proactive steps to improve sustainability. Many airlines are switching to SAF bio fuel while hotels are adding more energy efficient properties to their portfolio. Prior to the Tesla partnership, Hilton has already began constructing EV charging infrastructure at new build properties such as the upcoming Evermore Resort & Conrad Orlando. According to Hilton one of the most searched terms on their website is for properties with EV charging on site. Hilton accounts this as the second highest conversion of web searches to booked stay metrics for 2023. Over 1,850 Hilton properties globally have EV chargers on property. Expect that number to increase in the future as more chargers are constructed.
