Spirit Airlines Adds 8 New Destinations

Ultra low cost carrier (ULCC) Spirit Airlines has announced a total of 8 new destinations comprising of 5 new destinations from San Juan (SJU) and 3 new destinations from San Jose California (SJC). This will increase Spirit’s San Juan, Puerto Rico service from 11 to 16 non-stop destinations. San Jose will be an entirely new airport for Spirit. To celebrate the new destinations Spirit Airlines has launched introductory fares as low as $39. The new routes along with their respective launch dates are as follows:

San Juan

  • Atlanta (ATL) daily May 5th
  • Chicago (ORD) daily May 5th
  • Dallas (DFW) daily May 5th
  • Detroit (DTW) daily May 5th
  • Hartford (BDL) 3x weekly June 7th

San Jose

  • Dallas (DFW) daily June 7th
  • Las Vegas (LAS) 2x daily June 7th
  • San Diego (SAN) daily June 7th

Spirit Airlines new destinations add to the enhancements the airline is currently undertaking. Spirit plans on receiving additional Airbus A320neo aircraft and has recently redesigned their Big Front Seat product. The future of the airline remains in question as the United States Department Of Justice reviews the proposed JetBlue-Spirit merger. Until then Spirit Airlines looks to make flying more affordable with their brand new destinations.
