Lets face it, there are a lot of changes coming to Southwest Airlines. From assigned seating, to extra legroom retrofits, the old Southwest is evolving. Another subtle change was announced today. Peet’s Coffee will be served aboard all Southwest Airlines flights beginning August 13, 2025, phasing out previous provider Community Coffee. Despite the changes ahead with Southwest Airlines, at least the free coffee is here to stay which helps make those 5AM flights more bearable!
A First Of Its Kind Partnership
This will be the first time that Peet’s Coffee has teamed up with a U.S. airline operator to offer inflight coffee. The complimentary coffee is a medium roast blend that features fruit-forward notes of Colombian beans with caramelized sweetness from El Salvador. “This is a defining moment for Peet’s,” said Eric Lauterbach, President & CEO of Peet’s Coffee. “To be part of every Southwest flight means more than expanding our reach – it’s about creating memorable coffee moments in the skies. This partnership introduces the Peet’s experience to millions of new consumers as part of their daily ritual in a way that’s personal and meaningful. Most importantly, it brings the rich, bold flavor of Peet’s wherever their journey takes them.” As the partnership ramps up, Peet’s will host a co-branded event with Southwest at Peet’s East 8th Street location in Chicago between August 15th and 16th.
