Flying United Airlines out of their Washington Dulles (IAD) hub can leave much to be desired. The current terminal is dark and during peak times becomes quite congested. This will soon be alleviated. United Airlines will operate additional flights out of IAD utilizing a state of the art 435,000 square feet 14 gate concourse, allowing for further growth for United and the Airport.

United Airlines Growth At IAD

The new United Concourse at IAD (Concourse E) is being constructed in collaboration between United Airlines and the Metro Washington Airports Authority as well as local and federal funding. The terminal will be able to accommodate widebody and narrowbody aircraft at all gates. There will be direct access to the existing Aerotrain station which will allow for inter terminal connections as well as access to baggage claim. Additionally the concourse will sport a 40,000 square foot United Club, one of the largest United Clubs in the network. Washington Dulles has emerged as a global gateway and these new investments will help deliver the world-class facility that our employees and customers deserve,” said United CEOย Scott Kirby. “Today is one of many milestone celebrations to come in United’s long-term commitment in advancing ourย Dullesย hub.” The new concourse is currently slated to open late 2026.
