Any traveler who has waited in line at a Delta Air Lines Sky Club recently can attest to the overcrowding found in many of Delta’s lounges. While new and expanded Delta Sky Clubs are underway, the airline has fallen behind on lounges for the ultra premium lounge market. American Airlines and United Airlines have dedicated lounges for international first class passengers. Delta Air Lines, has finally caught up to this trend, announcing the first Delta One premium lounges slated to open this year in, BOS, JFK and LAX.
Growing Premium Demand
The first premium lounge will debut at JFK boasting 38,000 square feet of lounge space. The lounge will feature a full service brasserie as well as a casual market with open kitchens. While exact specifics on access requirements are being worked out, expect international premium cabin passengers to have an almost exclusive premium space. Almost every major airline in the U.S. and Europe is following the trend of catering to the most premium yielding seats and passengers. It is finally about time that Delta One customers receive the same treatment. The first Delta One Lounges will open at the following airports:
- Boston (BOS) opening Q4 2024 adjacent to the Delta Sky Club in Terminal E.
- New York (JFK) opening June 2024, expected to feature an outdoor terrace.
- Los Angeles (LAX) connected to the newly opened Delta One Check in hall.
