Canada Orders 16 Boeing P-8A Poseidon Aircraft

The Canadian government has formally signed a Foreign Military Sales Letter of Offer and Acceptance to order up to 16 Boeing P-8A Poseidon Multi-Mission Aircraft. Canada will join eight other P-8A Poseidon operators in the FIVE EYES intelligence alliance Including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States. Deliveries are expected to commence in 2026.

A Versatile Platform

The Boeing P-8A Poseidon is a heavily modified version of the popular Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft. The United States Navy utilizes the aircraft for maritime patrol long-range anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). The Boeing P-8A Poseidon meets all of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) requirements including range, speed, endurance and payload capacity. Globally, Boeing has delivered 160 Poseidons, totaling 560,000 collective flight hours conducting anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief missions. *Web article and images do not imply or constitute endorsement.
