Privately owned Brightline has recently announced that free Wi-Fi will soon be operational aboard their high speed trains. SpaceX owned Starlink will provide complimentary internet connectivity on Brightline trains operating between Miami to West Palm Beach and soon Orlando. Brightline is the first rail operator in the world to use the Starlink system. Starlink has become a popular connectivity platform among many airlines who have recently begun upfitting their aircraft. According to Starlink the system works by having thousands of satellites orbit the planet closer to the earth providing low latency Wi-Fi. As a result, Starlink makes it possible to support streaming, video calls and other high data rate activities. The new five train fleet operating extended service to Orlando launching Summer 2023 witch will also feature the new Wi-Fi system onboard. According to Brightline, not only will they have the fastest trains in the United States but will also have the Fastest free Wi-Fi as well.
