Breeze Airways is adding yet another new airport to their portfolio. Beginning September 27, 2024 Breeze will begin operating up to four routes out of Washington Dulles International Airport. One of the routes is part of the Essential Air Service Program which will connect Ogdensburg to our nations capitol. Flights can be found for as low as $45.
Connecting Underserved Markets To DC
Breeze Airways has based their model on connecting historically underserved markets. Their approach in Washington Dulles (IAD) will be no different. The airline received their first ever Essential Air Service contract connecting Ogdensburg, New York which has not seen air service to IAD since 2022. Breeze Airways will also serve other underserved destinations including Salt Lake City-Provo, UT; South Bend, IN; and Vero Beach, FL. Historically, these destination’s have not received regular air service to the Washington DC area. โWe are excited for Breeze Airways to become the 45th airline at Washington Dulles International,โ said Paul Bobson, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority vice president for airline business development. โBreeze will give local travelers access to three previously unserved markets from the Washington, D.C., region while bringing nonstop service back to upstate New York. With these new flights, Dulles will reinforce its position as the airport with the most nonstop destinations of any airport in the region.โ The new routes including days operated and start dates out of Washington Dulles are as follows:
- Ogdensburg (OGS) Daily, starting September 27, 2024.
- Salt Lake City-Provo (PVU) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, starting October 1, 2024.
- South Bend (SBN) Mondays and Fridays, starting November 8, 2024.
- Vero Beach (VRB) Thursdays and Sundays, starting November 21, 2024.
