Avelo Airlines has announced Raleigh Durham, NC (RDU) as their 5th crew and aircraft base. Along with stationing aircraft and crew, Avelo Airlines will fly to 6 Floridian destinations.  This greatly expands Avelo’s footprint at RDU where they currently fly to New Haven (HVN).

Below are the new destinations from RDU:

  • Fort Lauderdale [FLL]     4x weekly
  • Fort Myers [RSW]           3x weekly
  • Orlando [MCO]                4x weekly
  • Sarasota [SRQ]               3x weekly
  • Tampa [TPA]                    4x weekly
  • West Palm Beach [PBI]   3x weekly

Avelo Airlines will base a single Boeing 737 at RDU with a second aircraft arriving in early 2023. This announcement comes shortly after other routes were announced such as Dayton, Ohio to Orlando MCO and Dubuque Iowa, to Orlando MCO. We have flown Avelo Airlines from RDU to HVN  and have found their Avelo’s secondary airports to be a piece of cake compared to the larger airports many other airlines fly out of. Tickets and more information can be found here. Congratulations to Avelo Airlines on their new routes and crew base.
