Avelo Airlines will terminate operations out of multiple airports on the West coast, following a rather large route network realignment as the airline focuses operations on the East coast.
Closure Of Burbank And Santa Rosa Bases
In a X post by Aviation Watchdog Ishrion Aviation (marked below), it appears that multiple routes out of Burbank, Las Vegas and Santa Rosa will terminate mid August. For over four years the airline operated and grew a base out of Burbank Airport and subsequently added a Santa Rosa ad well as a short lived Las Vegas base. In a statement to CBS news, Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Leavy had this to saw about the base closures; “We believe the continuation of service from BUR in the current operating environment will not deliver adequate financial returns in a highly competitive backdrop,” Avelo wrote in a statement. “We intend to redeploy these BUR aircraft to business areas where we see more efficient longer-term growth prospects, while also building depth and breadth to our East Coast operation.”
