A Brewing Turf War In New Haven

Avelo Airlines seems to divide their Connecticut air service into two different operations. On the New Haven front, the airline operates domestic flights whereas in Hartford they operate both domestic and international service. Currently Avelo flights two international routes out of Hartford, Cancun and Montego Bay. The airline will now offer weekly service to Punta Cana (PUJ). Flights will operate Fridays and Mondays beginning February 21, 2025. Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levyย said, โ€œWe love Connecticut and are excited to continue expanding our presence here with these five new exclusive destinations. With 39 route choices, Avelo offers Connecticut travelers more choice, affordability and convenience than any other airline operating in the state. And when you couple that with our industry-leading reliability, it doesnโ€™t surprise us that nearly 3 million Customers have entrusted Avelo with their air travel since we took flight here three years ago. Aveloโ€™s purpose is to Inspire Travel, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead of us to make air travel easier, more affordable and more dependable for people across Connecticut.โ€ Below are the new routes launching of Tweed New Haven:
