Avelo Airlines is further expanding out of their New Haven, CT (HVN) base to four new destinations. Avelo will begin nonstop service to Atlanta (ATL), Charlotte Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (JQF), Knoxville (TYS), and Destin Fort Walton Beach (VPS). This will bring Tweed New Haven Airport to a total of 8 Floridian destinations and a total of 21 destinations served from HVN by Avelo.
Growth In Southern Connecticut
Prior to Avelo Airlines setting up shop in New Haven, American Airlines offered daily nonstop service out of Tweed New Haven airport to Philadelphia (PHL) and weekend service to Charlotte (CLT) using Embraer E175 regional jets. These aircraft were the largest aircraft operating out of New Haven prior to Avelo. Tweed New Haven Airport Executive Director Tom Rafter said, โLaunching these routes to Knoxville, Destin, Atlanta, and Charlotte is not just an operational milestoneโitโs a celebration of progress and accessibility in air travel from Tweed-New Haven Airport.”
New Route Schedule
Similar to other ultra low cost carriers such as Allegiant Air or Frontier, Avelo Airlines flights are operated on a weekly basis. The new routes and frequencies from Tweed New Haven (HVN) are below:
- Atlanta, Georgia Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). Starting May 2, 2024 operating Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sunday.
- Charlotte, North Carolina Concord-Padgett Regional Airportย (JQF) Starting May 2, operating Thursdays and Sundays.
- Destin, Florida Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). Starting May 17, 2024 operating Thursdays And Sundays.
- Knoxville, Tennessee via McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). Starting May 9, 2024 operating Thursdays and Sundays.
