American Airlines has signed a firm order for four Embraer E175 regional jets for wholly owned regional operator Envoy Air. The aircraft will be configured in a three class configuration seating 76 passengers. Deliveries are expected to commence in 2024 with an order valuation estimated at $230.6 million.
A Growing Regional Jet Fleet
Envoy Air has been upgrading their fleet following the retirement of the much smaller 50 seat Embraer E145 regional jets. The outgoing aircraft featured only a single class product and were found on shorter routes out of Dallas and Chicago. The larger E175s replacing the smaller E145s feature three cabin classes, power outlets and WIFI. Back in June 2023, American Airlines and Envoy placed an initial order for seven E175s. By 2024 Envoy Air will have a fleet of over 150 Embraer aircraft and growing. With the new aircraft coming on property, new routes may be added with the additional aircraft.
