American Airlines is jumping right in to the grab and go lounge concept. Following behind United Airlines with their Club Fly concept, American Airlines will launch their take with the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge. The first grab and go lounge is slated to open at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in late Summer of 2025.
Aimed At The Traveler With A Quick Connection
Personally I much prefer a lounge where I can kick back and relax before my next flight. There are some instances though were a tight connection makes it not possible. The grab and go concept American Airlines is introducing will add options if time does not permit a visit to a full service Admirals club. The first lounge will open in Charlottes Concourse A adjacent to gate A1. Based off the renderings the design is uber minimalistic and seems to be more utilitarian then decorative. There will be minimal seating as this is more a grab and go space as oppsoed to a lounge with multiple seating arrangments. According to American Airlines these are some of the amenities in the Provisions by Admirals Club “lounges.”
- One-on-one customer support: Representatives are available on-site for personalized service and travel assistance.
- Flexible food options: Customers can choose from a variety of sandwiches, salads, snacks and fresh fruit. Vegetarian sandwich and salad options will also be available.
- Streamlined experience: The space will feature a clean design with high-top standing tables and minimal furniture to create an environment that supports quick visits and high-volume traffic.
Who Can Access The Lounge
Even though the Provisions by Admirals Club may not be a full lounge, it is subject to the same access policies as the Admirals Clubs. If traveling domestically you can access the Admirals Club® lounge through an Admirals Club® membership, qualifying oneworld status or the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive credit card. Eligible AAdvantage® status members can access the Admirals Club® lounge when traveling on qualifying international flights. You can also purchase a day pass eligible for 24 hours, for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles. Personally I would not waste the miles or money for one of their grab and go lounges and would instead visit one of their brand new lounges in Philadelphia or Washington DC.
