American Airlines is undergoing major renovations in New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Terminal 8. In partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, $125 million will be allocated towards enhancements inside the terminal. A new great hall with over 60 new shopping and restaurants will open. A heavy emphasis has been placed on ensuring small and diverse businesses have the opportunity to set up shop.
A Growing Oneworld Hub
JFK Terminal 8 has also undergone a $400 million expansion with joint collaboration between American Airlines and British Airways. Enhancements to the terminal include five additional widebody gates and four widebody parking positions. In addition, new lounges and a co branded American Airlines, British Airways private check-in area was constructed for premium passengers. In addition to Admirals Clubs, three new premium lounges have been constructed. A part of the renovation effort of terminal 8 has been consolidating Oneworld Alliance member airlines into Terminal 8 allowing for a seamless transfer.
