American Airlines will be adding seven new routes serving coastal destinations in New England and Nova Scotia beginning in Summer of 2024. The expansion will include six new cities from New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) bringing American to 75 nonstop destinations from LGA alone. Many of the new routes announced have not seen previous service from American Airlines. Three class Embraer E175 regional jets will operate the new routes.
New Routes In The Northeast
American Airlines has been adding a significant amount of international routes in 2023 including increasing service from Philadelphia and New York JFK. The latest announced routes will focus on popular east coast destinations. For the first time, American will operate daily summer service from Washington National (DCA) to Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA). Other routes announced, frequencies and aircraft flown include:
