Allegiant air has secured financing commitments for four Boeing 737 MAX and seven secondhand Airbus A320 aircraft. BNP Paribas and Jackson Square aviation will be the lessor for the aircraft. The deal is estimated to cost around $412M. The financing will help to grow Allegiants fleet and route network.
Diversifying A Growing Fleet
Allegiant Air currently operates a fleet of all Airbus aircraft compromising of a mix of A319 and A320 aircraft. Back in January 2022 Allegiant placed an order with Boeing for 50 737 MAX 7 and 737 MAX 8-200s. There are options for 50 more aircraft as part of the initial order. In addition to the secured financing, Allegiant Air has increased their 737 order. In a correspondence with Simple Flying, the airline reports that they have set an agreement with Boeing to receive 30 additional aircraft in addition to the current order for 50 aircraft. The first aircraft are expected to arrive in 2024, making Allegiant the first Ultra Low Cost Carrier in the United States to purchase the high density 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft.
