Frequent flier programs pack quite the punch. The more one flies, the more miles they earn. There are some passengers out there that are earning upwards of a million miles. One Alaska Airlines passenger in particular, Stephen Routh reached a record three million miles. That’s enough to fly to the moon and back six times!!

Alaska Airlines First 3 Million Miler

Obviously, Stephen has been flying Alaska Airlines for quite some time to reach three Million miler status. He has been an Alaska Milage plan rewards member for over 35 years. What does his million miler status now earn him. For starters he gets to enjoy complimentary inflight food and beverages as well as lifetime MVP Gold status. Best of all he can share this with a companion. When Alaska Airlines found out when he was going to hit his three million miles on an upcoming flight, they rolled out the red carpet. The inflight crew decorated the aircraft with balloons and cake. He also received a custom made “Golden Nugget Service” luggage tag with recycled material from a retired Convair CV-240 aircraft. “Reaching 3 million miles is impressive on its own, but what really makes Stephen stand out is how he connects with so many people along the way. His generosity and kindness have touched our team and countless others. Weโ€™re incredibly grateful heโ€™s made Alaska Airlines part of his journey,โ€ said Derrick Cunningham, Alaska’s Million Miler Program Manager. Congratulations to Stephen for reaching this one of a kind milestone, being part of a select few passengers in the world who have earned million miler status.
