Tampa International Airport (TPA) is gaining new international service. Beginning Summer 2024, Aeromexico will begin daily nonstop service from Mexico City to Tampa using 99 seat Embraer E190 aircraft. Flights will depart Mexico City at 10AM, arriving into Tampa at 3:20PM. The return flight to Mexico City will depart Tampa at 4:15PMThis will bring Aeromexico to a total of 23 U.S destinations and Tampa International Airport to a total 21 international destinations.
A Win Win Route
The new route will be a win win situation for Tampa and southern Florida. Mexico City has been Tampa International Airport’s top targeted international destination for years. The route is expected to generate over $70 million in economic impact for the Tampa bay area. Both business and leisure travel are expected to utilize the new route as well as local Tampa area residences with Mexico ties. “This new service to the Tampa Bay area demonstrates our commitment to offer the best connectivity between Mexico and the United States, hand in hand with our partner Delta Air Lines,” said Jose Zapata, Vice President of Sales for US, Canada and Latin America. “As a result, our customers will have more options for leisure and business travel, and Tampa Bay has a lot to offer.” As part of Aeromexico’s partnership with SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines, tickets can be booked through either airlines website beginning July 1st.
