Amtrak has announced a limited time offer for both the Guest Rewards Preferred Mastercard and the Guest Rewards Mastercard. From March 15th to April 26th cardholders who apply for either card can receive bonus points after making at least 1,000 in purchases in the first 3 billing cycles. If these conditions are met, Guest Rewards Preferred Mastercard holders will earn 40,000 bonus points while Guest rewards Mastercard Holders will earn 20,000 bonus points. The Amtrak Guest Rewards Preferred Mastercard has a $99 annual fee but comes with perks that may be beneficial if the user travels on Amtrak frequently. Some perks include 3 points per dollar spent on Amtrak travel including onboard purchases, 2 points per dollar on travel including rideshare and transit and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. The card comes with other perks including a round trip companion coupon upon account opening and card anniversary as well as a one class upgrade upon account opening and card anniversary. A pass to Amtrakโs Metropolitan Lounge is available for one visit per card anniversary and upon opening the account. The Amtrak Guest Rewards Preferred credit card also gives holders a 20% rebate on food and beverage purchases onboard Amtrak trains in the form of a statement credit. For those looking to travel across the country on Amtrak, the railroad also offers a the USA Rail Pass allowing up to 10 travel segments in 120 days across the Amtrak network at a fixed price. Amtrak is expanding their footprint with many new trains on order and a resumption of service on suspended routes.
