Marriott International has opened its 1,000 hotel property in the Asia Pacific region (APAC). After entering the Asia Pacific market over 50 years ago, the 1,000th property in the region will be the newly opened Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne Australia. Marriott seeks to continue growth in Asia with two openings per week in 2023 according to a recent press release. Marriott expects to open 12 luxury branded properties including a Ritz-Carlton in Fukuoka Japan as well as a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Jiuzhaigou China.
More Brands And Choices In Asia
Over 30 premium brands including new Sheraton and Westins are expected to open. Over 50% of expected openings in the APAC region will be select service brands. New select service brand openings will include Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton, AC Hotels and Moxy Hotels. Over 19 Fairfield by Marriott properties will be constructed with heavy emphasis on openings in Japan and China.
