Amtrak has announced the resumption of train service between New York and Montreal Canada starting April 3, 2023. The resumption is coordinated in partnership with VIA Rail Canada, New York State Department of Transportation and Amtrak. Trains will depart New York Moynihan Train Hall at 8:41AM and will arrive in Montreal Canadaโs Gare Centrale/Central Station around 8:16PM. The route has currently been suspended since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The resumed train service will connect cities throughout upstate New York including Albany, Poughkeepsie, Plattsburgh, Saratoga Springs, and Schenectady. Passengers can access the Lake Placid area on Amtrak Adirondack trains by stopping at Westport Station and connecting to the Amtrak Thruway bus service. Tickets are now available to book on the Amtrak App, Amtrak.com and for passengers departing from Canada, ViaRail.ca. The initial Amtrak Adirondack schedule in both directions will be:
