There is a new sheriff in town at United Airlines. United Airlines has appointed Oscar The Grouch from Sesame Street to fill a very important role at United as the “Chief Trash Officer”. Oscar’s primary role will be to promote the airline’s push towards sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This environmentally friendly fuel is made from used cooking oil and agricultural waste. According to the airline, over three billion gallons of SAF has been invested towards future production. To promote SAF and United Airlines goal for net zero emissions by 2050, Oscar will debut in over 30 pieces of original videos to help break down the SAF concept into more understandable and light hearted content. He will be staring with real United Airlines employees and will also star in United Airlines Miles On A Mission program where travelers will be able to donate miles towards chartable causes. United Airlines has a dedicated site where Oscar explains a bit more about sustainable aviation fuel with some trashy jokes here and there (pun intended).
