JetBlue Airways has announced three new routes form the New York area. Starting this summer JetBlue will fly to Martha’s Vineyard and Charleston from Westchester County Airport (HPN) on a seasonal basis. JetBlue has also announced nonstop flights to Washington Ronald Reagan (DCA) from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). As part of the Northeast alliance, JetBlue looks to strengthen their presence in the east coast with their partner American Airlines. The alliance is currently under review by the federal government pending a final decision. To celebrate the new routes, introductory fares as low as $59 can be found on their website. The new routes and start dates are below:
Westchester County Airport (HPN)
- Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) May 25th seasonal
- Charleston (CHS) May 25th seasonal
John F. Kennedy International Airport
- Washington DC (DCA) June 15th year round
The northeast alliance started in 2020 as a collaboration between American Airlines and JetBlue Airways to increase competition in the Northeast and strengthen the two airlines footprint on the east coast to compete against Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. The alliance provides passengers reciprocal benefits between the two airlines as well as codeshare routes. Expect to see additional routes added between JetBlue and American as the northeast alliance’s long term outcome remains unknown.
