Despite the volatility of Ultra Low Cost Carrier landscape in the U.S. Frontier Airlines seems to be pushing ahead. A handful of will operate out of Atlanta, Dallas, New York and Chicago. For the very first time, Frontier will commence service out of Corpus Christi and Richmond. In light of the new routes, base fares can be found for as low as $29.
Growing And Evolving The Airline
Frontier like other Ultra Low Cost Carriers is evolving the current way they operate as the Ultra Low Cost sector has seen nothing but financial woes this past year. In light of that Frontier will be launching First Class seats and complimentary upgrades for elite members, something traditionally seen on a mainline carrier, not a budget airline. The 15 new routes that were announced link cities that are traditionally linked my mainline operators. Take their new Tucson to Dallas route for example. Their is direct competition with American airlines and Southwest Airlines. Below is a list of the new routes. It is worth noting that these routes will primarily be flown twice to three times weekly.

- Denver International Airport (DEN) to Tulsa International Airport (TUL)
- Denver International Airport (DEN) to Richmond (RIC)
- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to El Paso International Airport (ELP)
- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Tucson International Airport (TUS)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Chicago’s Midway International Airport (MDW)
