American Airlines is shedding some more light on the upcoming Flagship Suites set to debut aboard new Airbus A321LRs, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and Retrofitted Boeing 777-300 aircraft in the coming months. After much speculation, American Airlines has officially confirmed that Flagship Suite Preferred Seat will take up the first row of the flagship cabin. Let’s dive in and break down what the revamped Flagship seats have to offer.
Flagship Suites & Flagship Suite Preferred Seat
American Airlines traditionally lagged behind Delta Airlines and many international carriers when it comes to offering enclosed business class suites. That will eventually change with the introduction of the revamped Flagship business class product. On widebody aircraft, the suites will be configured in a 1-2-1 arrangement offering direct isle access at every seat. On the Airbus A321LR narrowbody aircraft the suites will be configured in a 1 on 1 layout. Each Flagship Suite will feature a fully enclosed door offering passengers a sense of privacy. There will be plenty of space at each seat and of course, the seat can convert into a fully flat bed.
American Airlines will also offer Flagship Suite Preferred suites, located at row one. Similar to Virgin Atlantic’s Retreat Suite in Upper Class, the Flagship Suite Preferred Suites will offer additional space, expansive storage areas and exclusive amenities like a Nest Bedding mattress pad, a throw blanket, a memory foam lumbar pillow, Nest Bedding pajamas and an exclusive amenity kit. It is unknown as of yet what the cost for the ultra exclusive suite will be. What we do know however is that it will be available on select Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and retrofitted Boeing 777-300 widebody aircraft.
