Tailwind Air is increasing frequencies on their New York City to Boston Harbor route starting September 12, 2023 . On weekdays flights will now operate 3 times a day in either direction. Weekend flights will operate once daily. Tailwind is seeing strong demand between the city pairs, so the additional flights will help to meet the increased demand. Flights will be operated on Cessna 208 Caravan float planes capable of carrying up to 13 passengers and landing on either land or water.
A One Of A Kind Business Model
One of the key differentiators of Tailwind is where they operate from. Unlike a traditional airline or public charter that operates from congested airports, Tailwind operates flights out of Boston Harbor as well as the SkyPort terminal in Manhattan. Similar to private charter operators such as JSX Tailwind offers lounge areas to wait as opposed to the busy airport terminals at Boston Logan or JFK. In addition to being located right in the heart of the city, passengers will not have to go though the dreaded TSA lines. The 75 minute flight between New York to Boston will operate on the following schedule effective September 12, 2023:
Manhattan (NYS) to Boston Harbor (BNH) weekday departures:
- 8:00 am
- 9:15 am
- 4:15 pm
Boston Harbor (BNH) to Manhattan (NYS) weekday departures:

- 2:45 pm
- 4:40 pm
Daily service on Saturdays and Sundays in each direction.
