Virgin Atlantic recently took delivery of their newest and greenest aircraft product, the Airbus A330-900neo. This aircraft is a gamechanger for Virgin Atlantic offering enhancements to the onboard product that benefit every passenger. The economy class product onboard the Airbus A330-900neo is a step up from the traditional product offerings found on many other airlines and retired Virgin Atlantic Aircraft. Virgin Atlantic recently showcased the A330-900neo economy product at New York JFK International Airport providing a tour of the Upper Class, Premium and economy classes.
Ground Expierence
Passengers booked in economy class have two fare groups to select from; Economy Light, Economy Classic and Economy Delight. With Economy Light tickets, seats are assigned at check in, otherwise a fee applies for advanced seat selection. Economy Classic fares include free seat selection, 1 x 10kg hand luggage and 1 x 23kg checked bag. Economy Delight includes the same benefits as Economy Classic but also includes premium check in, priority boarding and extra legroom seats.
Onboard Experience
Onboard the Virgin Atlantic A330-900neo are 28 Economy Delight Seats. Seats are in a 2-4-2 configuration. Seat pitch in Economy Delight is a generous 34″ with a 17.9″ width. Virgin Atlantic’s Economy Delight product was recently reviewed aboard the A330-900neo from Boston to London. There are 150 Economy Classic and Economy Light seats offering 31″ of pitch and 17.9″ of width. Seats in all classes of economy feature a 13″ touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity including the ability to configure a smartphone as a remote control. Inflight entertainment onboard Virgin Atlantic offers a wide variety of TV shows, games and movies to choose from. AC and USB power outlets are located underneath each seat. Also located in each seat is a pillow, blanket and headphones. Complimentary meal services are provided at the beginning of the flight along with a snack service prior to landing. Tray tables in are large and fold out half way or entirely, when fully extended the table can accommodate a small tablet or laptop. Each economy seat has an adjustable headrest that can be moved vertically and latterly. The economy product aboard the Virgin Atlantic A330-900neo provides a solid onboard product making a longer transatlantic flight that much more enjoyable.
